All the way from my hometown Tilburg, The Netherlands is coming Bow. A new Thrash Metal project by Martijn Balsters (guitars/bass/vocals and keys). The project was started to survive the Covid pandemic in a musical way. To make his project complete he added Tim Verheijden (Lucifericon) on drums, Robin Kok (The Monolith Deathcult) on vocals, (this for the growling parts). All including bassist Rich Gray and keyboard player Sander Heerings. All in all, it sounds very good with more than enough skills. It do reminds me to some Bay Area Thrash Metal, think about Testament meets Metallica. The music is heavy, groovy, up tempo and straight into your face, all with some nice vocal parts, great riffs, rhythms and small progressive touch (Rush?). There is also a great dynamic in all eleven songs. Production wise, there is also nothing to complain about. It’s fresh, but still with that old school flair. The CD was released by the band itself and comes in a nice digipack edition, this including a 16 page full-coloured booklet. A good album with a nice atmosphere that ends with an acoustic ballad ‘Towards The Sun’, that tops it off.
